Looking down on Houston Street, NYC

A few months ago a friend was in town finishing up her feature film. One night she asked me to help her with a looping session. There were a few scenes where she needed background dialogue, and her shortlist of Chinese speakers had become fairly short. Although her film was set in Hong Kong, she didn't mind a little Mandarin in the mix.

The studio overlooked Houston street, although the entrance wasn't. She met us out front and the elevator took us up to the studios. They weren't quite ready for us and so we waited in a reception area. Chips and beer had been laid out on a table. I can't remember if they were for us or leftover from a previous session. I looked out the window and down. I reached for my camera and took this picture.

The session was over surprisingly quickly. Afterwards we went to a nearby Asian restaurant and had dinner before we all parted ways. My friend was staying with me at the time and we went home.
