Street vendors outside MoMA, NYC

I'm generally a fan of the street vendors in and around the various museums and galleries around New York. At one point an effort was made to reduce the number of artists who set up shop in SoHo in an effort to tidy up the sidewalks; I wasn't a fan of that movement. There's something about the various people who set up on the sidewalk that add to the overall millieu of a city. I've already mentioned street food vendors; this time I'm rooting for the artisans.

I shot this photo the same day as the one of the Dali poster I posted a little while ago. I had climbed up one of the prefabricated homes that were on display in the lot beside the museum and shot over the fence that separated the exhibit space from the street.
