Outside the Whitney, NYC

I spent the day waiting for the electrician; he never came. My super, in reinstalling the bathroom light, rigged it so the light switch no longer worked. He came by yesterday to fix it and blew out a fuse in the apartment. Coming back from the basement, he confessed he wasn't an electrician; he told me he'd find one and call me the next day to schedule an appointment.

This morning he appeared at my doorstep at 8:30. "The electrician will come sometime today," he said. I told him I had to work and that he said he'd call to schedule an appointment. The super shrugged. He told me to give him a key. I didn't have one handy, so I arranged to work from home. And to wait.

That doesn't say much about this image, save that there's a street light in it. The image does put me in the mind of waiting, however. Looking up at the sky, then asking the child if he is sure to come tomorrow. Waiting. Then asking the child again, "Are you certain?"
